A header from John McCombe two minutes from time followed by a 92nd minute injury-time strike from Tom Pope gave the Valiants a welcome victory as they responded well to their midweek defeat at Accrington.
Adams said: "I thought we were excellent and fully deserved the win and bounce back in style from the Accrington game.
"We had a fantastic start and controlled the game for 30 minutes and were unlucky not to add to our tally.
"Unfortunately we gave away a poor goal just after the half hour. That put them back in the game and I was really disappointed to be only level at half-time.
"We went on to defend a little bit too deep at times but we always had the better chances of the game and I thought we got our reward at the end against a decent side."
