About 40 Paris Saint-Germain supporters have been arrested before a French league match at Lens.
Police said Saturday the fans were brought to a police station and their match tickets were confiscated after PSG decided this week to ban its fans from traveling.
Clashes involving fans from the two main stands at PSG's stadium Parc des Princes erupted last Sunday before and after a 3-0 loss to Marseille in the French league, leaving a 38-year-old with life-threatening injuries.
About 550 police officers have been deployed and the stands reserved for the visiting fans in Lens' Stade Bollaert have been closed.
