Robbie Brady scored from the penalty spot to give Hull a 1-0 win over Norwich as the newly-promoted club put on an impressive defensive display to earn its first points in the Premier League on Saturday.
Playing its first home game back in the top flight since relegation in 2010, Hull was reduced to 10 men after 27 minutes when striker Yannick Sagbo was sent off for an off-the-ball incident.
Brady had converted the winning penalty in the 22nd with a left-footed shot that sent goalkeeper John Ruddy the wrong way for his team's first goal of the season.
About 40 Hull fans protested against a proposed change of the club's name to ''Hull City Tigers'' before kickoff, brandishing placards and a banner proclaiming ''a club not a brand''.
