DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) Zipessa won the $72,000 feature for 3-year-old fillies by 2 3/4 lengths Friday at Del Mar.
Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Zipessa ran a mile on turf in 1:35.61 and paid $6.40, $4.40 and $2.80 as the 2-1 favorite.
Sweet returned $5.20 and $3.80. Conquest Curlgirl was another 2 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $2.80 to show.
Bejarano and trainer Michael Stidham also teamed to win the first race on the card.
