Zindaya wins Goldikova Stakes on closing day at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Zindaya split horses turning for home and surged over the final three-sixteenths of a mile to win the $200,000 Goldikova Stakes by a half-length Sunday on closing day of Santa Anita's fall meet.
Ridden by Javier Castellano, Zindaya ran a mile on turf in 1:34.38 and paid $4, $2.80 and $2.40 as the even-money favorite in the field of seven fillies and mares for the Grade 2 race.
Tiz a Kiss returned $7.60 and $5, while Hillhouse High was another nose back in third and paid $7.80 to show.
Trained by New York-based Chad Brown, Zindaya won for the sixth time in 15 career starts. The victory, worth $120,000, increased her earnings to $561,240.
