The second of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ two first-round picks in the June 27 NBA draft was set in place Friday. If it doesn’t move up in the draft lottery, Minnesota will have the No. 9 overall selection by way of its 31-51 regular-season record and will also select 26th, which was Memphis' pick via Houston.

Minnesota will select 26th by virtue of Memphis losing a Friday drawing with the Los Angeles Clippers (the Clippers will select 25th). The Wolves acquired Memphis' first-round pick from Houston on June 24, 2011.

Minnesota will also have two second-round picks: the 52nd and 59th overall.

Final draft orders will be determined on May 21, when the annual NBA draft lottery is held. Minnesota has a 1.7 percent chance of attaining the draft's first overall pick through the lottery.
