Wolverines-Irish under the lights again
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Playing under the lights at the Big House worked for Michigan in 2011, so Notre Dame will give it try in South Bend, Ind., come September.
Notre Dame and NBC Sports announced Thursday that the Wolverines and Fighting Irish will play at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 22 at Notre Dame Stadium
It will be the first night game in Notre Dame Stadium between the two schools since 1990, when the top-ranked Fighting Irish defeated the fourth-ranked Wolverines, 28-24.
Last season, U-M defeated Notre Dame, 35-31, in the first night football game ever at Michigan Stadium. Trailing, 24-7, entering the fourth quarter, Michigan scored four fourth-quarter touchdowns, including two in the final 1:12, for the comeback victory.
Michigan has won three consecutive over Notre Dame, with each victory coming in the game's final minute. The Wolverines hold a 23-15-1 overall series edge.
The Wolverines will hold the first of 14 spring practices on Saturday. U-M will play its annual spring scrimmage at noon on April 14 at Michigan Stadium.
