WNBA draft details released, Lynx pick third

MINNEAPOLIS – The WNBA announced on Monday the details of the 2012 draft, which will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 16.

ESPN2 will televise the first round of the draft, with subsequent rounds available on ESPNU and NBA TV and online on ESPN3. The Los Angeles Sparks hold the draft's top pick, and Seattle has the second.

The reigning champion Lynx, who finished last season with a 27-7 record, have two first-round picks. They will pick third, with a pick they received from Washington, and 12th. In the second round, the Lynx hold the sixth, seventh and eighth picks, and in the third round they'll select seventh.

Some of the top prospects in this year's draft include Nnemkadi Ogwumike (Stanford), Samantha Prahalis (Ohio State), Natalie Novosel and Devereaux Peters (Notre Dame) and Shekinna Stricklen (Tennessee).

Lynx single-game tickets will also go on sale at 10 a.m. on the day of the draft, April 16.
