At Omaha, Neb., sophomore Brendan Woods scored the game-winning goal at 18:18 of the third period Friday to lift Wisconsin's hockey squad to a 4-3 triumph over Nebraska-Omaha at CenturyLink Center.

Wisconsin, now 15-11-7 overall, enjoyed leads of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 early on in Friday's action, thanks to goals from Mark Zengerle, Joseph LaBate and Michael Mersch. Nebraska-Omaha briefly knotted the score at 3-all midway through the third period, when Andrej Sustr lit the lamp. But Woods' even-strength goal late helped the Badgers turn back host UNO (18-13-2).

The Badgers' effort was greatly aided by netminder Joel Rumpel's 24 saves.

Friday night's attendance was announced at 10,543 at CenturyLink Center.
