Wisconsin earns 1-0 win at Alaska Anchorage

At Anchorage, Alaska, Wisconsin earned its second men's hockey sweep of the season late Saturday night, fending off Alaska Anchorage by a 1-0 margin at Sullivan Arena.

The Badgers are now unbeaten in their last eight contests (5-0-3) and have improved their overall record to 6-7-5, including a 4-5-5 mark in WCHA play. Wisconsin was led Saturday by Derek Lee, who tallied the game's only goal at the 2:56 mark of the second period, off an assist from Joseph Labate.

Wisconsin's defense was stout all evening, limiting Alaska Anchorage to just 12 total shots on goal. Badgers netminder Joel Rumpel improved to 3-5-3 between the pipes.

Alaska Anchorage, now 3-11-4 overall, was paced by Rob Gunderson's 21 saves.
