Win over Steelers costly as Mack, Bryant will have surgery
The Cleveland Browns suffered two significant injuries during their 31-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday when defensive lineman Armonty Bryant left the game in the first quarter and center Alex Mack left the game on a cart in the second quarter.
Exams on Bryant revealed damage to knee ligaments that will require surgical repair. Bryant's surgery will be scheduled for later this month and he will miss the remainder of the 2014 season.
Mack suffered a fractured fibula that will also require surgery. Mack's surgery is being scheduled for the coming days and his expected timeframe for recovery will be determined following surgery.
Mack's leg will likely be re-evaluated for ligament damage after his surgery is completed.
