Much like Sunday's game itself, the Wild's road trip came crashing down in Anaheim. Minnesota had generated some momentum with wins in Phoenix and Los Angeles, but the three-game swing through the Pacific Division ended on a less sunny note with a 6-2 loss against the Ducks.
Despite giving up the game's first goal a mere :19 in, Minnesota controlled some encouraging stretches of the game -- that is, when Anaheim's big line wasn't on the ice -- and remained close enough to the Ducks that earning points in a third straight game was well within reach. Until the 14:19 mark of the second.
