Wild rise up against adversity to beat back Flames

A long homestand was ending. A desperate division rival was in town. A roster had been churned by injuries. Lines were scrambled. Excuses were plentiful.
 
The Wild managed to overcome the pressures and shortages Friday night to come back from a 1-0 deficit on their way to a 2-1 win over the visiting Flames Friday night.
 
Thanks in large part to outstanding goaltending (again) from Niklas Backstrom, and the efforts of individual players in all three zones, Minnesota closed out its five-game home stand with seven points. The Wild also take with them the knowledge that their effort was responsible for the win.
