Wild recall goaltender Darcy Kuemper from AHL
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota Wild announced Monday that
they have recalled goaltender Darcy Kuemper from the team’s AHL affiliate, the
Iowa Wild. Minnesota also reassigned goalie Johan Gustafsson to Iowa.
Gustafsson was originally recalled on Nov. 15 after
Minnesota’s Niklas Backstrom suffered an injury during the Wild’s win against
Toronto. Josh Harding replaced Backstrom in that game and also started Sunday
against Winnipeg, meaning Gustafsson did not play during his brief recall.
In 10 games this year, the 23-year-old Kuemper is 3-7 with a
2.97 goals-against average. He did make one appearance with Minnesota this
year, starting against Toronto on Oct. 15.
The Wild are now 13-4-4 on the season after Sunday’s 2-1 win
over the Jets. They play in Montreal on Tuesday to kick off a four-game road
trip.
