Wild activate Matt Cooke, Ryan Carter
The Minnesota Wild are nearly at full strength, and the timing couldn't be better.
Minnesota announced Saturday it is activating forwards Matt Cooke and Ryan Carter from injured reserve. The Wild have lost three of their past four games and have three straight home games beginning with Saturday night's game against the Nashville Predators.
Cooke has missed 22 games with a lower-body injury. Cooke has been limited to eight games this season and has been out since Oct. 28. He has two goals and four assists this season.
Carter missed three games with an upper-body injury. Carter has two goals and eight assists in 26 games this season.
Goaltender Darcy Kuemper could also return from an illness.
With the return of Cooke and Carter, defenseman Keith Ballard is the only player on injured reserve. The only player missing from Minnesota's season-opening lineup is rookie defenseman Mathew Dumba, who has been assigned to the American Hockey League.
The Wild have sunk to 10th in the Western Conference in losing their past two games.
