Wigan's Roger Espinoza returns to MLS club Sporting KC

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Honduran midfielder Roger Espinoza has returned to MLS club Sporting Kansas City.

The 28-year-old Espinoza, who spent the past two years with English club Wigan, was introduced during a news conference at Sporting KC's headquarters. He will be added to the club's roster pending the receipt of his international transfer certificate.

Espinoza began his professional career with Sporting KC in 2008, quickly becoming one of the club's most popular players over five seasons. In his final year, he was an All-Star in MLS while helping Sporting KC to the U.S. Open Cup championship.

Espinoza has made 45 international appearances for Honduras, including the past two World Cups and the London Olympics in 2012. He's scored four international goals.
