Wife says Eric Decker 'depressed' about abysmal season with Jets

On Monday, Jets wideout Eric Decker's wife Jessie James appeared on The Todd Show on 95.5 WPLJ in New York where she confirmed what's probably a no-brainer for Jets fans: It's really depressing to suit up week after week in a Jets uniform.

And that was before the Jets dropped to 2-10 after finding a way to lose to the Dolphins on Monday night in a game in which New York rushed for a staggering 277 yards. Meanwhile, Jets quarterback Geno Smith attempted only 13 passes, competing 7 for a mere 65 yards and one interception. Decker caught two of those for 18 yards and has tallied a disappointing 49 catches for 531 yards on the season.

In response to a question during her appearance about whether Decker comes home in a bad mood, Jessie added that her husband is "obsessed with football" so it's "hard for him" and that "he is so talented and so good at what he does, and he's not really able to show his ability right now and he's getting a lot of doubters and that hurts him."

At the end of October, Jessie defended her husband when haters hated on Decker after he called for reasons why fans love the Jets. She said:

So, a few weeks later into a season in which Decker has run routes for Geno Smith, Michael Vick, Geno Smith again, Michael Vick again, a hologram of Joe Namath and Geno Smith again, it seems the mood at home has shifted a bit.
