Wietecha wins Country Music Marathon for 3rd straight year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Scott Wietecha won the St. Jude Country Music Marathon for a third straight year Saturday, finishing in 2 hours, 23 minutes, 39 seconds.
Geoffrey Kiptoo finished second in 2:33:57. Melanie Kulesz won the women's competition in 3:04:34.
Roosevelt Cook won the men's half marathon in 1:08:39, and Lauren Versweyveld took the women's race in 1:19:22.
Country singer Kellie Pickler was part of a marathon relay team running in honor of former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas, who died last year. The relay team included more than 20 of Bironas' friends and relatives, who walked across the finish line together.

The race included over 30,000 registered participants.
