Whitworth bound for Pro Bowl?

When it comes to protecting Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, left offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth has got his back, having allowed just three sacks in the past 35 games.

That kind of protection does not go unnoticed, and Whitworth on Wednesday was rewarded for his performance this season by finishing as the top vote-getter among AFC offensive tackles in fan balloting for the 2011 Pro Bowl, the NFL announced. Fan voting ended on Monday.

Whitworth, who has started all 14 games, received 372,295 votes to outdistance second-place Michael Oher of the Baltimore Ravens, who garnered 296,751 votes. They were followed in the balloting by Miami's Jake Long (259,414 votes), the New York Jets' D
