Quade seems to have the qualities Milwaukee management should crave in its next manager: a system guy who has worked at all levels of the organization, understands young players and the process of a big league club.  Quade also came in to manage the Cubs during the final six weeks of the season and left his mark, holding veterans just as accountable as the rookies.

The Brewers process is turning out to be far more complex than just casting a glance into their own dugout.  While Willie Randolph and Dale Sveum both seemigly have the pedigree to be leaders at the Major League level, they seem to be square pegs for the round hole the Brewers are presenting.

While Randolph and Sveum possess a different baseball gene than the departed Ken Macha, the fact remains they have been a part of the last two seasons as well, and thus may have come in contact with the bad juju that has surrounded the club since their last postseason trip. 
Is it fair to hold this against Randolph and Sveum?  Hardly.  But the label has been stapled to both potential internal candidates, meaning that the search goes on outside the box.
