West Indies slips to 38-3 after Pakistan bowled out for 281
SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates (AP) Mohammad Amir's first ever catch in a test match inspired Pakistan's fightback as the West Indies slipped to 38-3 on day two of the third test after Pakistan was bowled out for 281 early in Monday's play.
Amir and Wahab Riaz peppered Darren Bravo (11) with a barrage of short pitched deliveries before the left-hander tried to break the shackles only to loft a delivery from spinner Zulfiqar Babar to mid-off where Amir plucked a diving catch while running backwards from covers. It was Amir's first catch in his 20th test.
Leg-spinner Yasir Shah then had Marlon Samuels lbw just before lunch.
Opening batsman Kraigg Brathwaite was unbeaten on 21 and Jermaine Blackwood yet to score.
Earlier, Pakistan resumed at 255-8 and Amir provided a 20-run cameo to stretch Pakistan's total before Alzarri Joseph (2-57) got the last two wickets in one over with the second new ball.
Devendra Bishoo finished with 4-77 while Shannon Gabriel, who had got two wickets in the first over on Monday, ended with 3-67.
