Wednesday on FOX Sports Arizona: Wildcats vs. Robert Morris, 6:30 p.m.
Arizona concludes the non-conference portion of its schedule on Wednesday night, hosting the Robert Morris Colonials at 6:30 p.m. at McKale Center in a game that will be televised on FOX Sports Arizona.
With a win, the Wildcats (10-2) can match their best non-conference victory total since the 1999-2000 season. The Wildcats are coming off a 72-62 road victory at North Carolina State. Arizona limited the Wolfpack to 31.8 percent shooting to overcome a 45-31 rebounding disadvantage. Particularly troublesome were the Wolfpack's 23 offensive boards.
Derrick Williams led the Cats with 22 points, his fifth 20-point game of the season and his 21st consecutive game in double figures. At 19.5 points per game, he's the only Wildcat averaging in double figures.
Robert Morris is 4-6 overall and 1-1 in the Northeast Conference. Russell Johnson leads the Colonials in scoring (14.6 points per game) and rebounding (7.2).
The two teams met most recently in 1996, when Arizona rolled to a 118-54 victory in the Bank One Fiesta Bowl Classic. In the only other meeting, the Wildcats defeated the Colonials 94-60 in Boise, Idaho, in a first-round NCAA Tournament matchup in 1989.
After Wednesday's games, Arizona will take a holiday break before returning to action on Dec. 30 in its Pac-10 opener at Oregon.
