WATCH: Ronda Rousey goes topless for new brand endorsement
Ronda Rousey's next fight just got pushed back almost two months, but it's OK. She has plenty to do.
The UFC women's bantamweight champion has two huge movies coming out next year and now she's dipped her toe into the world of fashion. Lifestyle brand Buffalo David Bitton announced Thursday that Rousey is the new female face of Buffalo Pro, an offshoot of the company focusing on the sports-minded consumer.
"It’s such an amazing opportunity to be able to represent Buffalo Pro," Rousey stated in a press release (h/t MMA Fighting). "Not only am I the first female they’ve ever had representing the campaign, but it’s the first time any MMA fighter has done any type of fashion thing at all. I feel really honored to be taking the first steps into this industry. I never had the confidence when I was younger to dress well, and avoided any type of fashion and femininity, and I’m enjoying the chance to embrace it at this point in my life."
Rousey, 27, stars in a fairly provocative video that gives a behind-the-scenes look at her first photo shoot. Buffalo Pro has also worked with NBA players Kevin Love and Chandler Parsons and NFL wide receiver Eric Decker for its holiday campaign, which was first reported by Women's Wear Daily. It will appear across print, digital and social media platforms.
The Canada-based Buffalo David Bitton is owned by major brand management company Iconix. It offers denim, apparel, outerwear, intimates and accessories and is geared toward men and women from 18-to-34 years old -- right in the UFC's wheelhouse.
You can find Buffalo David Bitton products in places like Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Dillard's, Lord & Taylor and more. The company also has a flagship store in New York City.
Rousey (10-0) will defend her UFC belt against Cat Zingano at UFC 184 on Feb. 28 in her hometown of Los Angeles, it was announced Wednesday. She has rapidly become arguably the UFC's biggest star. In 2015, she will star in "Entourage" and "Fast & Furious 7" on the big screen with future movies still to come. Rousey's first film was "The Expendables 3," which premiered over the summer.
