TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona women’s basketball team fell to Washington State 60-50 on Sunday at McKale Center.

Junior Alli Gloyd posted her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds, and senior Davellyn Whyte added 17 points in the loss.

As a team, the Wildcats (11-9, 3-7)  forced 25 turnovers but were outrebounded by 13.

“We didn't do what we needed to do down the stretch,” Arizona head coach Niya Butts said. “We didn't stay together as a team offensively. We had a ton of turnovers -- you can't do that and win the basketball game. We have to stay with it, go back to the drawing board and see what we can do the second time around.”

Arizona stayed close with Washington State (8-13, 4-6) early, as neither team led by more than five in the first 20 minutes. The Wildcats controlled most of the half, with the Cougars leading only twice, and went into the locker rooms with a 27-26 advantage.

In the second half, Washington State pulled away with a 19-0 run.

“We just weren’t focused all the way around," Whyte said.
