Virginia dialing 757 for success

Mike London made a promise when he took the Virginia job 14 months ago, and that was to restore the program to its winning ways of the 1990s and do so using the "7-5-7."

"757," as kids from that region call it, is the area code for the Tidewater area in Virginia that comprises Virginia Beach, Hampton, Norfolk, and surrounding communities. Few locales anywhere in the nation are so fertile with budding college football players, and London, who is a product of the "757," is using his old stomping grounds to change the Cavaliers' program.

Coaches say recruiting is the lifeblood of a program, and London and his staff have worked feverishly and diligently to re-establish UVa as a place kids from Virginia
