Tennessee got a little help from a true freshman to pull off the first signature win of the Butch Jones era.
With the Vols trailing No. 11 South Carolina in the waning moments on Saturday, receiver Marquez North's in-traffic, one-handed catch for 39 yards helped solidify Tennessee's 23-21 upset in Knoxville.
Michael Paladry's 19-yard field goal, as the time expired, clinched the home victory for the Vols ... and consigned the Gamecocks to their second loss in SEC action.
With Florida, Georgia and the Gamecocks all falling on this day, Missouri (7-0, 3-0) now owns a two-game lead in the SEC East, with outings against South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Texas A&M still on the docket.
