Florida State joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in 1992 and has watched the league grow ever since.
And after the league expanded to add Miami, Virginia Tech and Boston College, the Seminoles are now a part of a 15-team conference with the July 1 additions of Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame (in all sports but football).
"Our footprint is continuing to grow," Florida State football coach Jimbo Fisher said. "Our media market is the greatest of any conference in the country. Having the whole Northeast part of the United States along with what's going on down South, people are really going to appreciate how good the ACC is."
Florida State, which won the 2012 ACC title, will open at Pitt in the Panthers' first ACC game.
"Pitt has great tradition in their program," Fisher said. "Their fans will be hyped up. It's a great stage for our team."
