Val-d'Or beats London 1-0 in Memorial Cup opener

LONDON, Ontario (AP) Toronto prospect Antoine Bibeau made 51 saves in the Val-d'Or Foreurs' 1-0 victory over the London Knights in the first game of the Memorial Cup junior hockey championship.
Detroit draft pick Anthony Mantha scored for Val-d'Or in the first period. The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion will return to action Monday night against Ontario Hockey League winner Guelph.
Western Hockey League champion Edmonton will face Guelph on Saturday.
London will play Edmonton on Sunday.

The team with the best record after the preliminary round will advance to the May 25 final. The second- and third-place teams will meet in the semifinal.
