From interim coach to 2015 Coach of the Year.
USC Trojan head coach Clay Helton has been named 2015 Coach of the Year by the Los Angeles Sports Council for his outstanding coaching achievements in 2015. Helton will receive the award in a ceremony to air on Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket at a date to be determined.
Taking over mid-season for Steve Sarkisian, Helton lead the Trojans to four-straight conference victories and defeated the UCLA Bruins to capture the Pac-12 South. USC's subsequent appearance in the Pac-12 Conference Championship game was the school's first in the game's five-year history.
