LOS ANGELES – The Arizona women’s basketball team, playing its sixth road game in eight contents, couldn't keep up with USC on Saturday in a 74-57 loss.

Three players scored in double digits for the Wildcats (11-8, 3-5 Pac-12), as junior Kama Griffitts led the team with 12 points and senior Davellyn Whyte and junior Alli Gloyd each added 11. Griffitts and freshman Keyahndra Cannon led Arizona in rebounding with nine and seven boards, respectively.

As a team, the Wildcats outrebounded the Trojans (8-11, 5-3) 44-34 and forced 18 turnovers but shot just 29 percent from the field.

The first half was all USC, as the Trojans shot 50 percent from the field, 33 percent from the arc and 90 percent from the free-throw line. Arizona shot 23 percent from the field, 20 percent from the arc and just 6 for 10 from the charity stripe.

USC's Cassie Harberts led all players at the break with 15 points and six rebounds. She finished with a game-high 26 points to go along with six rebounds.

The Wildcats came out strong in the second half, fueling a 13-4 run to start the half, but the Trojans responded and would not let Arizona close the gap.

“In the first half, we weren’t doing a very good job of taking care of business,” Arizona head coach Niya Butts said. “They had a lot of points in the paint in the first half. In the second half, we came out and played more aggressively, but we need to get back to playing our style defensively.”

The Wildcats return home to take on Washington on Friday and Washington State on Sunday.
