USC Athletics and Terranea Resort announced Wednesday that they have reached a multi-year agreement that appoints Terranea Resort the “Official Resort of USC Athletics.”

The agreement was facilitated by USC Sports Properties, the FOX-owned sales entity which manages the marketing and media rights on behalf of USC Athletics. Terranea, Los Angeles’ premier oceanfront resort, is located in Los Angeles County on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

“We are delighted to partner with the University of Southern California as the official resort of USC Athletics,” said Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Terranea Resort, Terri A. Haack. “We take great pride in our involvement and support of the community of Los Angeles and look forward to working together in the years ahead.”

According to the terms of the agreement, Terranea Resort receives a variety of multi-media sponsorship entitlements to support their partnership with USC Athletics throughout the athletic year during the terms of the agreement including the use of USC Athletic marks and logos in advertising, promotions and online in compliance with NCAA rules and guidelines.  Examples of multi-media assets include presenting sponsor of the first USC home game of the season on Saturday, September 1 vs. Hawaii, presenting sponsor of Trojan Kids Club, a forum of over 2,000 kids that receive special and exclusive USC Athletics items, and opportunities throughout the year.

"Terranea Resort is a perfect fit with USC Athletics, both maintaining the premier brand in their respective fields," said Dan Shell, Vice President and General Manager of USC Sports Properties. "The Trojan fanbase is going to benefit greatly through this partnership."

“It is an honor to form this partnership with my Alma Mater, the University of Southern California,” said Marketing Manager of Terranea Resort, Julie Sevilla Fisher.  “USC is all about traditions, family and continuing to fight on – it was a natural fit for our brands to align.”

The Trojans open the 2012 football season on Sept. 1 at home against Hawaii.  Other home match ups include Sept. 22 vs. California; Oct. 20 vs. Colorado; Nov. 3 vs. Oregon; Nov. 10 vs. Arizona State; and Nov. 24 vs. Notre Dame.
