DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers have lots of charity events where children get to meet their favorite players.

Next week Prince Fielder and his wife, Chanel, will host an event for adults that benefits children and their families.

On Thursday, August 2, the Fielders and their friends will welcome people to the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, Mich., for Uncork for a Cause.

Proceeds from the event go to Common Ground, a non-profit organization that serves Michigan children and their families who are in crisis, and Ele's Place, a non-profit healing center that supports children and teens who are dealing with the loss of a parent, sibling or other close family member or friend.

At the Townsend Hotel event, the Fielders will release the limited production 2010 Prince Fielder Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Napa winemaker Jason Moore and Modus Operandi Cellars created just two barrels (roughly 50 cases) of the wine, and each bottle is individually numbered.

In addition to tasting the wine, guests will also get to enjoy a special menu prepared by Executive Chef Jim Bologna and the Townsend's award-winning kitchen.

There will also be a unique auction featuring sports memorabilia, fine wine and opportunities to travel to some of Napa's premier wineries.

Guests will have a chance to meet the Fielders and purchase autographed bottles of his 2010 Prince Fielder Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tickets for the event are $75 and include food and drinks. Business casual attire is requested. Fielder will only be signing the wine bottles during this evening.
