UC's Prunty named recruiter of the year again
One day after the University of Cincinnati signed the top recruiting class in the American Athletic Conference, Bearcats assistant Robert Prunty was named the recruiter of the year in the conference by Scout.com.
"It's a great honor to be associated with so many wonderful coaches and recruiters," Prunty said in a release from the school. "It's not just me though, I am part of a great team at UC. From our head coach Tommy Tuberville to the rest of our assistant coaches and support staff and especially our recruiting staff, Greg Bruner, Blaise Taggart and Jena Bushelman. They all share in this honor with me."
Prunty received the same honor last season and was a two-time recipient of the Big 12 version of the award while an assistant for Tuberville at Texas Tech.
Coming off a season in which they went 9-4 and won a share of the AAC title, Cincinnati signed a recruiting class ranked 54th nationally by Scout. They finished in the top three of the AAC/Big East for the fifth straight year.
According to Scout recruiting analyst Greg Powers, Prunty has been responsible for 48 signings over the past four seasons with the Bearcats and Red Raiders, including six this year.
