UCF learns opponents for first Big East season
Ten days ahead of their showdown with Ball State in the Beef O'Brady's Bowl, the UCF Knights learned just which Big East teams they would be playing in 2013, their first season in the conference.
In an announcement Tuesday, the Big East revealed that UCF, part of the East Division, will have four home games and four away games, though the dates and times for the matchups will not be announced until later.
The two six-team divisions are arranged thusly: UCF, USF, Rutgers, Louisville, Cincinnati and Connecticut comprise the East, and Houston, SMU, Temple, Boise State, Memphis and San Diego State comprise the West.
UCF will face Cincinnati, Louisville, SMU and Temple on the road, and play host to Connecticut, Houston, Rutgers and USF.
USF, with new head coach Willie Taggart, will have home conference games against Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis and SMU, and have road contests against Connecticut, Houston and Rutgers, as well as the aforementioned UCF game.
