UCF adding beach-themed sundeck, lounge area to football stadium
The University of Central Florida is adding a Florida-themed social center -- dubbed the East Side Club (ESC) -- to Bright House Networks Stadium, the first major renovation to happen at the stadium since its debut in 2007.
The 10,000 square-foot ESC area will feature an open-air sundeck and covered lounge located between the 30-yard lines on the east side of the stadium. Members of the ESC will have access to the area for both pre- and post-game activities, as well as chair-back stadium seating, refreshments, televisions, private restrooms and other amenities.
UCF Athletics partnered with the Nassal Company, who have previously worked with Orlando landmarks such as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, to help create the design concept behind ESC.
The renovation is expected to be ready in time for the Knights' home opener on Sept. 5, 2015.
