U.S. Open Hole 11 preview -- Chambers Bay, 18 holes in 18 days

In the 18 days leading up to the June 18 start of the U.S. Open Golf Championship, FOX Sports.com and Golfweek will preview the Chambers Bay course -- one hole at a time.
Today’s hole: No. 11 -- Par 4, 500/537 yards
This is a long par 4 that will play shorter because wind helps the tee shot and players will get a lot of rollout on their drive. The key is keeping the ball left center and not getting stuck behind or in a huge sandy knob mid-fairway that lies 250 to 290 yards from the green (depending upon the tee location).
There’s a fairway right of the sandy blob, but it leaves a bad angle – semi-obscured – to a green that propels balls hard to the left. The angles here offer some support from the left side. Any shot coming in short or with draw spin (cut spin for Phil Mickelson or Bubba Watson) will kick down and away along a very broad slope. There’s a back-left hole location on the only part of the green that tilts away from the line of play – a possible Sunday pin.
