There were not too many positive takeaways from the Miami Hurricanes' performance against a 4-3 Wake Forest team on Saturday. As the No. 7 team in the country, one which trailed at halftime for the second straight week, the Hurricanes did not live up to expectations against the Demon Deacons.
However, one-handed catches and wild acrobatics are just what is expected of top-10 teams with potentially explosive offenses. And with two such catches, the Hurricanes' record remained unblemished (7-0, 3-0 ACC) in a last-minute 24-21 win.
In the first half, tight end Clive Walford, a 6-foot-4 junior, helped to keep Miami's lone first-half TD drive alive with this solid 20-yard catch late in the second quarter on Saturday ... helping to keep the halftime deficit at a manageable 14-10. Here's the snag:

Not too shabby.
Now, this is not on the level of one-handed grabs we've seen in past weeks. In the southeastern portion of the country alone, we've seen the likes of Georgia's Chris Conley and Alabama's DeAndrew White — not to mention Kodi Whitfield's current catch of the year for Stanford — upstage Walford's highlight. In fact, Walford's grab was not even the top receiving highlight from a Hurricanes player in this game.

Al Golden's Hurricanes needed these two highlights to stage yet another comeback — and he might need a few more with a dangerous Florida State team next week.
