MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins will have a new look in 2015.

The team unveiled a new home uniform Thursday, ditching the pinstripes that have donned the white jerseys for years. In addition, the red and blue colors on the jersey will now be accented by Minnesota Kasota Gold.

"The Twins have a proud tradition and believe the team's uniforms have long been among the best in baseball," Twins president Dave St. Peter said in a statement. "'We are excited to introduce a new contemporary primary home uniform which evolves our brand via the introduction of a gold accent color representative of our home state, as well as our home ballpark."

In addition to the new jerseys, a new alternate cap was introduced. It includes the "TC" logo on the front, now outlined with the Kasota Gold color.

Minnesota had previously worn the white pinstriped home jerseys since 1987, which was also the year the Twins won their first World Series title. The team introduced new road and home alternate jerseys back in 2010, both of which will still be worn along with the new white primary home jerseys.
