Twins option six players to minor league camp

The Minnesota Twins have made another round of cuts in spring training, optioning six players Monday to minor league camp.
The team announced that catcher Chris Herrmann was optioned to Triple-A Rochester, while pitchers B.J. Hermsen, Trevor May and Michael Tonkin, catcher Josmil Pinto and infielder Danny Santana were optioned to Double-A New Britain.
None of those moves came as surprises, as those six were not expected to break camp with the Twins. Herrmann is the only one of the six who has major league experience, as he appeared in eight games with Minnesota late last season.
Following Monday's cuts, the Twins now have 56 players in camp, including 22 non-roster invitees.
