After trading Justin Morneau to the Pittsburgh Pirates, Minnesota recalled catcher Josmil Pinto from Triple-A Rochester to take Morneau's spot on the roster.
Pinto, 24, began the year at Double-A New Britain and played 107 games for the Rock Cats, batting .308 with 14 homers and 68 RBI. He was eventually promoted to Triple-A Rochester, where he hit .314 with a home run, nine doubles and six RBI in 19 games.
The Twins signed Pinto as a free agent out of Venezuela in 2006. He'll join the team Saturday night in Texas.
