TUF 19: Well what can I say...Fight didn't exactly go my way.

Well what can I say... Fight didn't exactly go my way. With that being said as usual the production of the show once again proved to be consistent with each fighters real personality. Eddie is a big talker and I am the more cerebral of the two. Although the two don't mix well, in the fight you can tell which ever way you carry yourself doesn't matter once the cage doors close.
The episode started with me throwing dishes away which happened more than once. Unknowingly I was being charged every time I did this but I honestly didn't care when I found out. It was worth not having to do them everyday. After getting out if the house and reflecting I am have allowed that to cloud my judgement during the fight. I made. It clear I wanted to KO Eddie but that's no even my style. So I took emotion into the cage with me and didn't have a clear mind. In every situation there is a learning opportunity and this will never happen again.
Watching Eddies coaches work with him I have to say I'm a bit jealous. They took the time to break down the film and actually work on certain situations and scenarios that the fight would end up in and hoe to counter these. They did a great job game planning for my style. On the flip side BJ just let me do whatever I wanted. At the time I understood because they explained it as they didn't really know our styles as well as we know our styles. So our camp we kind of did whatever we wanted at each practice but it seems that Team Edgar had structured practices and worked on specific MMA techniques. How can you blame me for being jealous.
The Fight Recap
In round one Eddie did a great job of coming out early and establishing the jab. After switching my stance I was able to shut his jab down and began to take over towards the end of the round. This round it seemed like we were both feeling out the distance and each other's movement patterns. The round was close and unclear who had earned enough of an advantage to be judged for one fighter decisively.
Round two starts and I seemed to control the cage and was moving forward constantly. Eddie was putting good combinations together but wasn't landing often. I was able to land some solid strikes and scored a great throw towards the mid point in the round while landing some good elbows on the ground. Eddie battled back to his feet and we started exchanging again. I attempted a straight left at one point and was severely poked in the eye. The momentum changed at this point and I seemed to get hesitant.
Round three Eddie came out and started exploiting my new found weakness and won the round decisively. There isn't much I can say. I lost round 3 which is called the sudden victory round. Fight over. Don't pass go. Don't collect a ufc contract!
