'Trojans Live' launches on KFWB News Talk 980
"Trojans Live," a new, comprehensive look at one of the most storied athletic programs in America, will debut on KFWB News Talk 980 on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m.
KFWB general manager Valerie Blackburn and USC athletic director Pat Haden made the joint announcement on Tuesday.
The hour-long, first-of-its-kind broadcast devoted to USC sports will feature football coach Lane Kiffin, men's basketball coach Andy Enfield, student-athletes and coaches from all USC sports, game previews and a regular dose of behind-the-scenes insight and breaking news.
Produced by FOX Sports West, John Jackson, a former NFL receiver and two-sport Academic All-American at USC, will co-host the program alongside Jordan Moore, USC broadcaster and director of social media for USC Athletics. Trojans' radio announcer, Pete Arbogast, will also be a frequent guest contributor on the show.
"Trojans Live" will stream on KFWB.com, usctrojans.com and foxsportswest.com.
Following the Aug. 22 debut, "Trojans Live" will air Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. throughout the 2013 football season and then move to the 6-7 p.m. timeslot when the spotlight shifts to basketball in January.
"Trojans Live" will air before a live audience at The Lab,
a gastropub located across the street from the USC campus. The public
is welcome and audience members will have the chance to ask questions
on-air and meet the coaches and guests.
Listeners can also submit questions on Twitter using #TrojansLive.
"We are excited to partner with KFWB in this new venture that will provide Trojan fans with an inside perspective of their teams heading into each weekend's play," said Haden. "This comprehensive drive-time radio show will highlight not only our football and basketball programs, but all of our men's and women's sports. Our fans will get exclusive insight from head coaches Lane Kiffin and Andy Enfield, as well as from many of our other coaches and student-athletes.
"With Jordan Moore, who runs our social media platforms, former USC football and baseball great John Jackson and longtime Trojan play-by-play announcer Pet Arbogast as hosts, the show's content will be compelling, up-to-the-minute and something fans won't be able to get anywhere else."
"We're thrilled to team up with Fox Sports to add "Trojans Live" to our lineup," added Blackburn. "Coaches, players and staff will break stories on KFWB to the legions of passionate fans of USC and collegiate sports here in Los Angeles and across the country. Fans will hear exclusive news regularly right from the people most in the know and they’ll even have a chance to join us in person."
