Treon Harris leaves game in third quarter after apparent leg injury

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Florida quarterback Treon Harris left the Birmingham Bowl after apparently hurting his leg.

Harris was injured after carrying the ball late in the third quarter, and trainers were looking at his lower left leg. Former starter Jeff Driskel replaced him with the Gators leading 28-17.

Harris watched from the sidelines as Driskel led the offense.

The freshman Harris claimed the starting job for the final six games. He was 5-of-11 passing for 123 yards with two touchdowns and an interception when he left the game.

Harris completed an 86-yard touchdown pass to Ahmad Fulwood earlier in the third, the Gators' longest play from scrimmage of the season.
