Titans take Lewan with 11th overall pick
A year after his stunning announcement that he would remain at Michigan for his senior season, Taylor Lewan is heading to the NFL.
The Tennessee Titans selected Lewan with the 11th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Lewan is the first Michigan offensive lineman taken in the first round since the Miami Dolphins selected Jake Long first overall in the 2008 draft.
Lewan started his final 49 games at Michigan at left tackle and was the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year in both 2012 and 2013.
Tennessee general manager Ruston Webster told the Tennessean, "When you find a guy that can play left tackle in the league, you take him."
Lewan was the third offensive tackle taken in the first round of the draft.
The St. Louis Rams chose Auburn's Greg Robinson with the second overall pick, and the Atlanta Falcons nabbed Texas A&M's Jake Matthews with the sixth pick.
