Tigers release pitcher Adam Wilk

DETROIT -- The Tigers released pitcher Adam Wilk on Wednesday, after his contract was sold by the organization to a team in the Korean Baseball League.

Additionally, the team outrighted the contract of pitcher Matt Hoffman to Triple-A Toledo.

Wilk, 25, lost all three of his starts with the Tigers during the 2012 season, compiling an 8.18 ERA. He was 7-11 with a 2.77 ERA in 24 starts with Toledo.

Hoffman, 24, finished 1-2 with a 3.69 ERA in 43 appearances with Toledo last season.
