One: Columbus played a good game, riding a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes of play. Yet, they allowed a good team in the Blues to hang around. This kind of a loss stings more than most. "We had our chances to score (more)", said Nick Foligno. "We couldn't put that one in that would probably break their back." Go for the jugular, every time.
Two: The Blue Jackets are playing with more confidence, stemming from them playing their system the right way. Having an "underdog" mentality helps, too. They controlled play for good stretches and didn't, for the most part, let the Blues dictate much of anything. Winning leads to confidence, which leads to more winning. Simple, yet effective. They're getting there.
Three: The defense was playing well in front of Mike McKenna, who didn't play the puck as much as he did against the Blueshirts. This club was known for its stout defense last season. This has been a work in progress since October, with the new faces (Murray, Savard)seeing regular ice-time.
