One: Not managing the puck against one of the best teams in the NHL and having too many turnovers had Columbus chasing the game from almost the first drop of the puck. Boston is a skilled, physical team and the Blue Jackets were not up to the task tonight. If you give a team like the Bruins that many chances with the puck, they'll beat you almost every time.
Two: 14 shots on goal is all that Columbus could muster compared to Boston's 36. In a word, "ouch". When shots were taken, many times they were off the mark by a wide margin. Granted, Boston blocked more shots tonight than they usually do. Also, the team still doesn't always take a shot when maybe they should. A prime example came in the 1st period. Nick Foligno had Zdano Chara beat at the top of the circle and chose to pass instead of turning to shoot. Missed opportunities add up.
Three: Jack Skille continues to impress and make the case for sticking with the big club. He has 2 goals in the last 4 games and tonight had 10:50 time on ice. He's earning the trust of the coaches and gaining confidence in his natural abilities with each game he plays. Don't be surprised if Columbus decides to keep him around. He has a lot of energy and a decent skill set to match. At his potential, he's a 2nd/3rd line tweener.
