Three Takeaways from the Blue Jackets 5-2 win over Philadelphia
One: A bit of a sluggish start, although they did control the play for stretches of the game. Some of the passing was not all together good. They settled as the game went on. Once again, they're finding different ways to win.
Two: Beyond the scoreboard, Columbus negated Philly's fore-check, especially in the 3rd period. They stuck with their game plan and were opportunistic. Good teams find ways to do this, night-in and night-out. Columbus is becoming one of those good teams.
Three: The fourth line guys don't always get on the scoreboard, but they are a big part of the reason that Columbus has managed to win eight games in a row. Many of the recent games have seen a momentum shift in the Blue Jackets favor after a 4th line shift. As Nathan Horton has said numerous times, "we're rolling four lines". Successful teams do this.
