One: The game started off as a track meet of sorts before they settled in and the Blue Jackets started dominating the play. Other than giving up three power plays to Detroit, the Blue Jackets were able to keep the puck in the offensive zone and kept their legs moving on the forecheck.

Two: They kept up the pressure on the Red Wings through the middle stanza and stymied Detroit when they got the puck into the Blue Jackets zone. In essence, they played the way they were expected to play from the beginning of the season. An efficient forecheck is key when playing Detroit.

Three: Detroit didn't play with a whopping sense of urgency, even when down by two goals to the Blue Jackets in the final stanza. Columbus didn't let the Red Wings come through the neutral zone with much ease for all 60 minutes. The icing on the cake was Bobrovsky having a stellar game and the guys clearing the lanes in front of him.
