One: They played a steady, controlled game at the pace that they dictated in an opponents barn. They weren't chasing the puck when Tampa Bay had possession and they were limiting the Lightning's chances. In short, they took the best team in the league off their game.

Two: The ket for the Blue Jackets was sound defensive play, with accurate passes that were crisp and on the mark. While they didn't have but 20 shots on goaal, they limited Tampa Bay to 34. Sound defensive play is a part of the foundation upon which they can build to being more effective offensively.

Three: Positional spacing among the players and quick puck movement paid dividends for them to the tune of a 3-1 win. They are playing a bit looser and not gripping their sticks as tight. Three wins in a row is a streak, by any stretch of the imagination.
